Mark Ian - Reed Gratz (ft. Reed Gratz) Lyrics
Music, dance. It’s all self-learned. It’s all self-taught. Y’know, I’m not teaching you anything. All I do is show you what page you might be able to find it on and let’s look at it and review it. You got to- you have to do if yourself. Y’know, you can have a million teachers but what it gets down to is the time you spend on-on this, on your own. Y’know- hehe, it’s called the woodshed. Y’know, you gotta get into the practice room or in your head in that practice room that’s there. Y’know we have a practice room with a piano in it or your instrument, but you have a practice room up here.
I listen to recordings that I did in my mid 30s and I think, ‘oh my God. Y’know, quit playing so damn many notes. You play to fast. For my- for my uhh, brain now. I don’t wanna hear all those notes. I wanna hear a story. I wanna hear nuance.’ And so I play more like that now. That’s a very different thing. I can’t play like that anymore. Things change in your life. So, you’re gonna be- like, y’know- if you jump into music. Even if you do do accounting for your income. Y’know, you’re gonna be involved in music. You’re gonna sing in the- you’re gonna sing in the local choir. You’re gonna conduct the children’s choir at your church. Or you’re gonna write some music. You’re gonna have a rock band. Y’know… you’re gonna play, uhh- you’re gonna play a concert with your chamber group, y’know, you put together. You’re gonna do something. You’re gonna teach it, y’know. A-and- Or you’re gonna do all those things, that’s the most likely. You’re gonna do a lot of things. That’s how, y’know, why I always passed out th-that wheel. You gotta get your spokes going, y’know. But, you’re the only one who can do it. |
