About"Le voyage de la verne" is Mark Ian’s senior project from the University of La Verne — a musical archive of his college years, shaped by the people, experiences, challenges, and growth that defined his time there. Originally presented as a two-disc project, the album now lives as a unified collection on streaming platforms, preserving the emotional and artistic journey he traveled throughout his undergraduate life.
At its core, the album reflects Mark’s evolution as both a songwriter and producer. Many tracks were born directly from the emotional landscape of his La Verne experience — moments of connection, transitions, lessons learned, and personal reflections. Some pieces were re-recorded and reimagined to represent how much he had grown in musicianship and production, while others remain in their original form as snapshots of where he stood at the time they were created. While the first half of the project focuses on expressing his inner world — how he felt, what he learned, and how he grew — the second half represents the joy of creativity itself. These tracks include works he simply loved making, pieces that emerged from inside jokes, fan-made lore, collaborations with friends, and musical tributes to the faculty who helped shape him. The album blends sincerity and playfulness, reflection and celebration, capturing both his emotional depth and his imaginative spirit. "Le voyage de la verne" wouldn’t exist without the mentors who guided him: professors who taught him technique, production, composition, performance, and discipline; faculty who offered advice and encouragement; and peers who inspired him through collaboration and friendship. Their support enabled him to expand his musical world — across instruments, technology, and storytelling — and helped bring this project to life. More than just a senior thesis, "Le voyage de la verne" stands as a musical memoir: a testament to community, growth, and the countless connections that shaped Mark Ian during his time at the University of La Verne. It is a journey preserved in sound — a chapter of life captured forever in music. Credits
