1/31/2019 0 Comments Volunteering at the Aztec ExpoAt the Aztec Expo, I volunteered for IB Club at the booth. I volunteered with my IB Buddy, Anjali. We worked together on what we were going to say. We stayed at the booth for a little over 30 minutes. We told people about the club, although I had a ton of social anxiety that was building up. We made staying at the booth a whole lot of fun. I believed that I've somewhat overcome my social anxiety and in addition, I believed that I have gained a little more confidence in myself. It took me a ton of my will to talk to people I was unfamiliar with.

I enjoyed volunteering at the Rose Parade, although all I did was hold up a sign and giving people directions. I had to wake up at 3 AM, so I slept at 2 and only had an hour of sleep. I had to be at the Rose Parade by 5. I held up the sign for 3 hours. From 5 - 8 AM. It wasn’t until an hour later when people started showing up. They asked me directions on where each aisle was. In order to make it more fun for me, I decided to impersonate people/characters (Yoda and Kermit). Some people found it annoying and thought I wasn’t being serious. After finishing holding a sign, I was stationed at an aisle, with my cousins checking tickets for like 30 minutes as someone was using the restroom. Afterwards, we were able to just watch the parade.
