Falling Off My Skateboard

As the title implies, I fell of my skateboard. There really isn't much to explain here besides on how I fell. First, I was going extremely fast to the point where my balance was uncontrollable. I tried taking back control of my balance but I ended up falling. This ended up with me walking the rest of my way to school Once I had arrived at school, I provided myself with self-first aid. This is when I learned my lesson not to go too fast in situations and it may lead to my downfall. It just doesn't apply to skateboarding, but it applies to the rest of my life.

Repairing a Phone

Picture
As the title suggests, I repaired a phone. More specifically, I repaired my friend's (Angelo) iPhone 6. He had cracked his screen a few months back and he had asked me to repair it. I had a spare iPhone 6 screen from when I bought several of them to repair several other iPhone 6's. The repair didn't go as smoothly as I had planned later on in the process. The first thing that had happened was I removed the screen from the phone as well as unplug the battery so there wouldn't be any shortages. That's where we hit a slack. One of the screws for the battery had fallen off the table and I ended up having to search the ground for the screw, which was carpet and it's hard to find something that is 2mm in length and 1mm in width. Several other people helped to no avail for about 30 minutes. It wasn't until our librarian, Ms. Alvarado, used a magnet to pull the screw from the carpet. Afterwards, the phone was repaired. There was a slight bulge after the process, I do not know where it came from, but a high chance the battery would need to be replaced as well in the future as that seems to be a common issue when it comes to a bulging screen. I practically learned that I need to be more organized as to not lose any valuables in the process of repairing devices.

Attempting to Learn Frolic (Curb Your Enthusiasm Theme) on the Piano

I have learned many songs on the piano, but the hardest in which of what I have learned and played would have to be Frolic (Curb Your Enthusiasm Theme). The song's tempo is 148 BPM, which is way out of my comfort zone. Most of the songs I've played are significantly less. In addition, the tempo being out of my comfort zone was one of the reasons in which I had attempted to learn the song in the first place. Another reason to why I decided to learn the song on piano is because one of my friends sent me a meme which contained the song in it. In all, it isn't the entirety of the song, but with how quickly I learned it in a span of an hour is beyond me. This also taught me the lesson that I've always been following in which to never give up. I have attempted to give up on the song after realizing that the BPM was 148, nearing 150, which turned me down from the song. That's when it hit me, I had learned to play a song which a near BPM to Frolic with 135 and that led me to learn the specific part of the song in which was shown in the meme my friend had shown me.

Selling Nachos at the Aztec Expo (for IB Club)

During the Aztec Expo, I did several activities, but one of the ones I participated in was selling nachos for the IB Club. We sold them for a dollar and an extra fifty cents with jalapenos added on. My job when volunteering was to basically take people's money and give them back change if need be. All in all, this was the system: I took money and gave back change (if need be), my friends Cristobal and Lupe handled preparing and handing out the nachos. In addition, there was someone else who handled the tallying of how many nachos we sold and which ones we sold. I made sure she tallied them correctly. Ultimately, this led to the requirement of complete synchronization and cooperation. This was extremely fun.

Promoting K-Pop Club at the Aztec Expo

At the Aztec Expo, other than selling nachos for IB Club, afterwards I promoted the Korean Pop and Culture Club. In the gym, we had a booth in which we handed out stickers out. This in turn also lead for me to converse with others, which, even though I did something similar for IB Club the year previous, I was still nervous on talking to people. This is where I learned my introverted energy is going to be a pain in the near future if I don't get it together. In addition, I did manage to cooperate with the others, which I was already familiar with so I had no issue there. But through all of this, I learned that the process and skills one must know and have when it comes to these voluntary things has a toll on myself and my social battery is easily drained. I can improve on this by just talking more basically anywhere where groups are involved and such.

Remixing Very Good by Block B

It may sound like I'm a broken record, but for this CAS experience is another remix. This remix is the same from the others in concept, in which I take a song of a certain genre and remix it into another genre. The genre Very Good by Block B is, is K-Pop. For the remix, I decided to change the genre from K-Pop to Orchestra. The pathway for me to remix the song is practically the same as my other remixes in which I had to analyze the song and find the key signature, the tempo, and the treble melody and the bass melody. This song was sort of difficult as half of it is rapping and usually rapping doesn't have a wide melodic range so I had to improvise. This led me for the revelation that I can made a rap sound melodic by getting the base key of the rap and make it interesting. Another hard thing was the tempo. The song sounded weird with the fast tempo, but there is literally a problem with that is some of the string instruments didn't fit the fast tempo so I had to arrange it in a certain way to where the strings were not the main melody in the remix. Instead I replaced it with woodwind instruments. I have never remixed a song into the Orchestra genre before and only focused on Rock. This remix was difficult as to the reasons as stated before with the poor tempo and instrument correlation. In the end however, the remix ended up fine. It is slightly shorter than the original song, and there are added elements to it as well.

Remixing BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love"

As the name states, for this CAS experience I made an attempt to remix Kill This Love by BLACKPINK, a K-Pop group. The process of remixing was extremely hard. First of all, I had to find out the tempo of the song, although that was easy through a Google search, I also had to find out the key the song was in, and in turn learn and take in what the song was. The remix I made was just an experiment in which involved getting the vocals through methods in which involved the equalization of the song to lower the frequency of the instruments of the original song. With that process, I was able to get a semi-decent sounding version of the song which just included the vocals. I had to plan out how the song would sound to make sure it stays true to the original song, but at the same time being in a style in which thought would fit in my opinion. I had to use what knowledge I had on music in which I said before was to finding what they key was of the song.

This song I've created came to mind due to a video I watched about these two K-Pop idols. The gist of the video is that the actions of the fandom caused a chance of these idols' happiness. After watching the video, I became extremely sad and I also felt the mood of making music. For like 30 minutes, I tried coming up with a melody and instead then started out with the bass track. I spent like over two hours working on the song. I also made a cover for the song which is basically based on what the song was supposed to reflect. The song that I've created is supposed to reflect the emotions of sadness, in this case should be those two K-Pop idols. Reflect what the two K-Pop idols could have felt like. Things I've learned while creating this song is that music comes from a passion and a desire and it's reflective on the mood your in or your surroundings. I had fun while making this song, albeit very sad.

Colera Club

Picture
The creation of the Colera Club was a risky move on my part as the consequences could be extremely severe. THe club is basically to show appreciation to Mr. Colera. I started the account with my girlfriend, Anjali. We've come up of quotes Mr. Colera has said. Through this development, we've learned that permission is needed for ever doing something publicly if it involves other people or something you don't own.

Captain American History

Picture
As great as I am at Photoshop, I still have a lot to learn when it comes to quality management. I photoshopped my history teacher's, head onto Captain America's body. I was bored during art, so I started up Photoshop and I just started hacking Captain America's head and placed Kear's head over. I also learned how to use some of the tools I wasn't familiar with which made the image way better.
